Mr Mark Gudgeon qualified from Westminster Medical School, London in 1980 and became a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and England in 1984. He trained in general surgery on the SW Thames Surgical Rotation at St. George's Hospital, London, Basingstoke and Adelaide, Australia developing a special interest in colorectal and laparoscopic surgery.
He was appointed Consultant Surgeon to the Derbyshire Royal Infirmary in 1995 before moving to Frimley Park Hospital in 1998. He holds honorary appointments at The North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke and St. George's Hospital, London. At Frimley he is lead clinician for the colorectal cancer MDT. He is preceptor on the national training program for laparoscopic colorectal surgery and a member of faculty at the Pelican Centre in Basingstoke, MATTU in Guildford and the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. He is a member of Council for the Section of Coloproctology of The Royal Society of Medicine, the Association of Coloproctology Great Britain and Ireland and The Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons.


Mr Farouk Massouh is a Consultant Surgeon at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey.
Having done most of his surgical training in Leeds and Epsom, Mr Massouh has been at Frimley Park Hospital for almost 10 years.
In addition to running a busy NHS and private practice, Mr Massouh is a lead clinician in day surgery and paediatric surgery
Mr Massouh has a vast experience in hernia surgery including inguinal, femoral and incisional. He has a special interest in Laparoscopic (key hole) repair of groin hernia which has the advantages of minimal scarring, less pain and rapid returns to activities.  He is also a member of the British and American hernia societies.
Mr Massouh is well known for his research into the use of different types of mesh for hernia repair and recently has been using the newer lightweight mesh to reduce chronic pos-operative pain and discomfort.
